We will bring DSK and other aggrieved members back to PDP - Hon. Bala Kona
Taraba state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has been working hard to bring back aggrieved members of the party preparatory to the state Congress which is scheduled to hold in Jalingo the state capital.
This was revealed to newsmen by the Chairman of the peoples Democratic Party, Hon Victor Bala Kona recently as part of the state party plans to get back all members on board for a more purposeful and successful outing in 2019.
Hon. Bala Kona said the purpose for bringing back the aggrieved party members who left the party because of one reason or the other is to find out what went wrong and to properly ex ray such problems with a view to finding a lasting solution and if need be, safeguard the party from similar situation in the future.
He lamented the agonising experience the party went through in the 2015 general elections, saying the present crop of concerned PDP faithfuls and loyalists are optimistic and determined to make all the required sacrifices for the party to regain its past glory and surpass the feat it achieved in the past.
The PDP chieftain mentioned that the efforts are yielding positive results as some aggrieved members of the party in state have started returning with particular reference to Hon. Isiaka Bawa, who was the party Chief Whip in the seventh Assembly but left the party after he failed to secure a return ticket to the National Assembly, stating that, he has rejoined the party and actively participated in the ward congress delegate elections.
Accordingly, the state chairman commended the genuine reconciliation move embarked upon by the PDP National Secretariat, in order to positively relaunch and reinvigorate the party to make it more acceptable with a refined vision and all encompassing ideas for the betterment of the party.
Victor Bala Kona also commended the Taraba state Governor, Darius Dickson Ishaku for extending his sincere hands of fellowship to the opposition party in the state and said such move is good for peace, development and progress of the state, reminding the people that the era of politicking was over and all that is expected of every well meaning Taraban is to contribute positively by coming up with ideas that will enhance mutual and harmonious coexistence in the state.
Commenting on the recently concluded ward congress and delegates election, the party chairman expressed satisfaction, stressing that throughout the exercise there was no single reported case of disagreement among the PDP family and attributed the success recorded in the state to internal democracy within the party, noting that that the party accepts option A4 and consensus among its members.
