Gov Ishaku Discredit Reports on Taraba’s IDPs, security


The governor of Taraba state Darius Ishaku has expressed deep concern over the recent sensational reports particularly on security matters in the state by some media houses. 

The governor who spoke through his senior special assistant on media and publicity Mr. Sylvanus Giwa lamented that recent report by some media houses was capable of discouraging the return of the Internal Displaced Persons, IDPs who were affected by last year’s communal crisis. 

Taraba Increases Tax On Madrid Wood


The Taraba State Government has put mechanism in place to enhance revenue generation by increasing taxes on logging across the state.
The Chief Press   Secretary to Governor Darius Ishaku, Mallam Hassan Mijinyawa who disclosed this in an interview with Daily Trust in Jalingo, said a tax of N400,000 has been enforced on each truck of a particular timber called  Madrid which is exported to China.


He said Taraba State is blessed with high quality Madrid trees in high demand in China and other Asian countries. According to him, apart from the tax, those involved in the logging business are compelled to replant trees to control desertification.

Gov Ishaku orders suspension of Univarsity workers


Gov. Darius Ishaku of Taraba has directed the state-owned university in Jalingo, to suspend all employments it carried out from May 29, 2015 to date. 

This is contained in letter with reference number MOE/S/34/169 dated March 22, signed by one Bala Fwadu, for the state Commissioner for Education.

Taraba State Governor to Dedicate 11th February as Thanksgiving Day to God

Governor Ishaku maintained that the eleventh of every February would be dedicated to thanking God for the next three years as a mark of appreciating God for the supreme victory God gave to him at the Supreme Court and task all to always pray and fast for the success of his administration in the remaining three years. 

He stressed that every of his action has been subjected to lots of criticism but expressed confidence that with their support and prayers God will see him through.

Hon. Baraya to be Turbaned As Garkuwan Wurkun

All roads lead to Karim Lamido LGA, for the turbaning of Member representing Karim 2 in the Taraba State House of Assembly, Hon. Edward Gideon Baraya.  

According to the program of events just released, the ceremony would be conducted by His  Royal Highness, the Chief of Wurkun and Garkuwan Muri, Alhaji Abubakar Haruna Kirim, on Saturday 2nd April 2016, at Government Secondary School, Karim Lamido, by 10:00 am.

The Problem With Taraba Pension And Death Benefit

When you take time listen to retired civil servants as they narrate their story as regards to their plights in the hand of the pension board in the State, you would have no reason but to feel bad.

Here are some complaint received.

Mr. H.D is a retired Local Government Civil Servant. He served the primary health care for 35 years and retired as an Assistant Director. He was not been paid his pension after retiring from service for 2 long years.
