Taraba state house assembly has re-elected the former
speaker Peter Abel Diah as the new speaker of the state house of assembly after
a self resignation was tendered by the house speaker Hon. Mark Bako Useni at
the plenary of the house.
Mark Useni the former speaker tendered a self resignation
during Thursday’s plenary, he gave personal reasons to the members of the state
house of assembly why he could not continued with the leadership of the house.
Immediately after the resignation of the former speaker Mark Useni, the deputy
speaker
Hon. Muhamed Danladi Gwampo took over and presided over the
session. The Clark of the house Mr. Smaila Ukwen therefore was called to read
the house standing rules. Ukwen sited Order (2) Rule (9) of the house standing
order who empowered the house to elect a new speaker whenever there is a
vacuum.
